Click here for camp flyer with registration form. Assisting Alan Casden in this year’s camp will be one of his students, John Hughes. A year ago, while in 6th grade, John won the Ohio 6th grade championship and the Ohio Elementary School Championship. The past year, John was the Ohio 7th grade championship and the National 7th grade championship! He also finished in 3rd place in the National K-8 grade championship, as a 7th grader. This summer John will be playing in the World Open and either the US Open or the Pan American Junior Championship. John is a very easy going and likable kid, who I feel that the other students will enjoy his company and could learn a great deal from. We are very excited about having John help us with this summer camp, along with the benefit that it could bring to the chess students in Granville. Also, probably joining Alan and John for 1 day of the program will the newest coach to join Columbus Chess Lessons, Life Master John Bath. Details on John (as well as Alan) can be seen at : http://www.columbuschesslessons.com/background.html We are clearly bringing a very high level of chess coaching talent and chess experience to Granville this summer. In addition to our great chess lineup, we will be holding the camp at the teen center, which is composed on 3 rooms, which include many games, such as ping pong, air hockey, basketball, pool, etc.
